Buyer​/Planner

Role Overview

Buyer/Planner within the Wolfspeed Supply Chain Procurement team responsible for purchasing and planning materials for semiconductor wafer production. Focus on quality, delivery, cost management and continuous improvement.

• Create, manage and expedite purchase orders for on‑time delivery of materials.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production demand.
• Collaborate with planning and category management teams to align material requirements with supplier commitments.
• Communicate daily with suppliers regarding open orders, shortages, delivery schedules and escalations.
• Analyze MRP/ERP system signals to drive purchasing decisions and replenishment actions.
• Support the introduction of new parts or processes to aid in timely processing of semiconductor wafers.
• Identify and communicate cost savings opportunities and process improvement ideas.

• BS in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field.
• 3 years experience in buying, planning or procurement role.
• Experience with direct materials purchasing.
• Demonstrated experience in a self‑directed, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Responsive with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships daily and resolve supply issues effectively.

• 3 years experience as a Buyer/Planner, ideally in semiconductor industry.
• Working knowledge of Oracle or SAP (MRP/ERP systems).
• Certification as supply chain professional (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) or Quality (Six Sigma).
