Position Summary
The Warehouse Coordinator supports inventory and logistics operations within the GMS Durham Supply Chain. This role supports daily warehouse activities including order fulfillment, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and domestic/international logistics to ensure safe, compliant, and on‑time delivery. The coordinator partners with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Operations to prioritize work, resolve issues, and maintain inventory accuracy. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and proactive problem solving in a fast‑paced environment.
PositionResponsibilities
- Triage and fulfill manufacturing floor requests with urgency to support production needs.
- Receive, inspect, and return unconsumed components; update system records and reconcile inventory.
- Perform the pre‑close review for each completed production order to confirm readiness for final technical closure (e.g., TECO).
- Support timely closure of all warehouse‑related orders/transactions.
- Generate backorder and order‑aging reporting; flag risks and provide insights to the supervisor for workload planning.
- Communicate backorder status and expected ship timing to Commercial Operations.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with investigations on inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes when issues arise.
- Review daily priorities; align staging and kitting according to the device schedule; coordinate urgent and emergency orders.
- Maintain offsite storage: coordinate transport, inventory accuracy, space utilization, and security/compliance checks.
- Maintain accurate transactions and data integrity in SAP.
- Maintain 5S standards and support safety audits and reporting.
- Train new team members; provide input to SOPs/work instructions and audits.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, as needed.
- Provide hands‑on support as needed (picking, kitting, put‑away, shipping/receiving).
- Follows and maintains defined warehouse workflows and safety practices.
High school diploma and 5 years relevant Warehouse/Logistics operations experience OR
Associate degree in related field with 2 years relevant Warehouse/Logistics operations experience
Technical Skills and Competencies Required Functional skills- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience working with SAP, Fed Ex, AES, and Veeva Vault
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Effective written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners (Spanish is a plus)
- High attention to detail and accuracy; strong ownership of follow‑through
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while supporting the team
Position Requirements
Work environment is primarily a shipping and receiving dock area, warehouse area and office cubicle. This position will require standing and lifting (up to 25 lbs) throughout the day.
