Supply Chain and Logistics Manager: Hengst North American Aftermarket

Reports to: Sales Director and Aftermarket Business Unit Lead

Scope: United States and Canada, with supply-chain oversight in Mexico

Hengst is seeking a commercially focused Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to lead its North American Aftermarket supply chain and build the team and capabilities required for best-in-class fulfillment.

The role will manage the existing third-party logistics (3PL) relationship, provide supply-chain oversight for the recently opened Mexico facility, and define the distribution network needed to support profitable growth. This leader will balance product availability, service, cost, and working capital while connecting daily execution with long-term commercial priorities.

Strategy and Commercial Decisions

• Develop and execute a supply-chain strategy aligned with aftermarket sales growth, customer requirements, and profitability.
• Evaluate owned, outsourced, and hybrid distribution options, including additional U.S. and Canadian locations and coordinated capabilities in Mexico.
• Own supply-chain budgets and lead commercial evaluations, negotiations, and investment recommendations, balancing service, capacity, cost-to-serve, and return on investment.

Logistics and Distribution

• Manage the 3PL relationship and transportation providers, including service agreements, pricing, performance reviews, and corrective actions.
• Oversee inbound and outbound freight, warehousing, fulfillment, and returns; improve delivery reliability and order accuracy while reducing cost.
• Coordinate with Mexico leadership on local fulfillment, inventory positioning, cross-border logistics, and operating standards; partner with relevant teams on trade compliance.

Planning and Inventory

• Lead demand and replenishment planning with Sales, Product Management, and global supply teams, including requirements for new customers, channels, and product launches.
• Set inventory and stocking policies that improve availability and inventory turns while reducing backorders, excess and obsolete stock, and working capital.

Team and Operational Development

• Define the organization and staffing roadmap; recruit, coach, and develop a team across logistics, planning, and fulfillment.
• Establish clear accountability, performance measures, and continuous-improvement routines; strengthen SAP processes, reporting, and inventory visibility.
• Partner with Customer Service, Finance, IT, and global operations to resolve service issues, improve processes, and manage supply-continuity risks.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Seven or more years of progressive supply-chain or logistics experience, including team leadership and 3PL management.
• Demonstrated success in distribution strategy, demand planning, inventory management, transportation, and fulfillment in a high-SKU environment.
• Strong commercial and financial judgment, including negotiation, budgeting, cost-to-serve analysis, and investment evaluation.
• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system, data analysis, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Automotive or commercial-vehicle aftermarket experience preferred;
  North American cross-border logistics and Mexico distribution experience are strong advantages.
• Ability to travel within the United States, Canada, and Mexico as required.
