Salary Rangs: $37,377 - $65,408

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Correctional Programs Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying a caseload of offenders, which involves supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answer and following up on offender questions and problems. Job responsibilities include; but are limited to, the following:

  • Providing recommendations to the classification committee.
  • Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordination major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation.
  • Planning and coordination transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.
Knowledge

Skills And Abilities

/ Management Preferences
  • Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
Necessary Special Qualifications

Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

The salary grade for this position is NC07
. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase may result.

Minimum Education And Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution
