Senior AV Project Manager

Kontek Systems is hiring an experienced commercial AV project-management leader to lead our PM team and strengthen delivery across our active project portfolio.

This is not a traditional Senior PM role where you’ll simply inherit the company’s largest projects. You’ll lead and develop the PM team, maintain visibility across active work, strengthen project handoffs and accountability, anticipate project and capacity risk, and manage selected complex projects when needed.

Commercial AV integration experience is required.

Kontek Systems is an employee-owned (ESOP) commercial AV integration firm serving corporate, education, healthcare, and public-sector clients across the Southeast.

• Lead, coach, develop, and onboard Kontek’s project managers.
• Assign projects based on capacity, experience, complexity, and workload.
• Lead weekly portfolio reviews and identify schedule, budget, staffing, equipment, client, and technical risks early.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for significant project and customer issues.
• Lead project handoffs from Sales and Design into Project Management.
• Improve standards for documentation, communication, change orders, handoffs, and closeout.
• Manage selected complex or strategically important projects.
• Coordinate with general contractors, architects, consultants, subcontractors, internal technical teams, and client stakeholders.
• Ensure scope changes are documented, priced, and approved before additional work proceeds.
• Partner with Finance to support timely billing and protect project margins.

• Projects stay on schedule and within approved budgets.
• Risks and capacity issues are identified early.
• Project handoffs are complete and clearly documented.
• Clients receive consistent communication.
• Change orders and billable events are captured promptly.
• The PM team becomes stronger, more consistent, and less dependent on any single employee.

• 8+ years of progressive project-delivery experience with substantial project-management responsibility in commercial construction, low-voltage, systems integration, or a related environment.
• Commercial AV integration experience required.
• Direct commercial AV project-management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading, coaching, supervising, or mentoring project managers or project-delivery staff.
• Strong knowledge of schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, site readiness, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout.
• Comfort with project financials, including job costing, labor, change orders, billing milestones, and margin.
• Strong communication, judgment, accountability, and follow-through.

• CTS strongly preferred; CTS-I, CTS-D, or PMP is a plus.
• Connect Wise or comparable PSA/ERP experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30, or ability to obtain it within 90 days.
