About the Role: This application is for a 6-month student role from July - December 2026. Resume review begins in February 2026.
The Manufacturing Technical Operations (MTO) team is a critical technical function within manufacturing sites. Its primary mission is to ensure that manufacturing processes, documentation, and systems are robust, compliant, and continuously improved. The group acts as a bridge between Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing Sciences, supporting operational readiness and technology implementation. This position would support the Large Scale Manufacturing Facility in RTP.
WhatYou’ll Do
The role will offer an opportunity for cross functional collaboration with Quality, Automation, Engineering, and Manufacturing Sciences. Working in MTO will allow the candidate gain experience in a GMP facility at a 15,000L bioreactor scale. They will gain experience in a GMP facility working to support manufacturing. This is an office-based role and can involve gowning into the clean rooms and observing manufacturing operations.
- Create and/or revise manufacturing instructions and/or batch records
- Perform work necessary to implement electronic batch records (this requires learning the Syncade system)
- Work with manufacturing to assess their requests for documentation updates
- Assist with campaign restart activities for various products
- Assist with technical transfer activities for clinical and commercial campaigns
- Example projects may include:
- Support the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) project with the rollout of E
- Revise Manufacturing documentation and instructions
- Assist with technical transfer activities to manufacture a new product
- Assist with manufacturing requests for continuous improvements
- Assist in creation of an internal AI chatbot

- Proficient in MS Office programs & Technical Writing
- Self-Starter with good communication skills and willingness to learn new skills
- Attention to detail is important for troubleshooting and document revisions
To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship
Candidate should be pursuing a BS degree. Open to many disciplines of study.

Additional InformationThe base compensation range for this role is: $23.00-$27.00
The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
