Tissue Technician – 1st Shift (Manufacturing / Assembly)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We are seeking highly motivated Tissue Technician candidates to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for individuals with a manufacturing or assembly background
, especially those experienced in manual assembly, production lines, or hands-on material handling
. This position involves tissue‑based operations
, including handling and assembling raw porcine organs
, within a controlled manufacturing environment.

The Tissue Technician assembles a variety of tissue‑based products while meeting quality, efficiency, and production goals. This role includes learning basic anatomy, identifying defects in biological material, and developing surgical‑tech skills such as suturing, knot tying, and the use of surgical instruments. Technicians will gain certifications in sub‑assemblies and begin cross‑training across multiple assembly types, while contributing to continuous improvement within the manufacturing line.

• Assemble a variety of tissue products following standard instructions and prints.
• Learn and demonstrate suturing, proper use of surgical instruments, knot tying, and adhesive application.
• Develop understanding of basic anatomy and perform visual inspection of biologic materials.
• Set up and operate production supplies and equipment as needed.
• Verify assembly components match Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Use electronic time‑tracking programs and online documentation systems.
• Complete manufacturing documentation, material requests, quality reports, and productivity updates.
• Perform inspections and simple repairs on your own work.
• Adhere to all safety, production, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain hygiene standards, follow line‑clearance procedures, and adhere to tissue handling/storage requirements.
• Work comfortably in a cool environment (approx. 65°F) and with household chemicals.
• Wear required PPE such as safety goggles and cut‑resistant gloves.

• Strong fine‑motor skills (sewing, cutting) and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to follow written instructions and short correspondence.
• Comfortable working as part of a team environment.
• Ability to use basic tools, timers, calculators, and rulers.
• Ability to work in a controlled/clean‑room environment (scrubs, slip‑resistant shoes, room standards).
• Ability to use computers and online documentation daily.
• Ability to complete online and in‑person training courses.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Perform in‑process quality checks for your own work and teammates’ work.
• Work in a tissue‑handling environment with cool temperatures and PPE requirements.

• Knowledge or experience in anatomy, biologic specimen handling, medical environments, or assembly work.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in small groups.
• Ability to identify and report quality issues.
• Ability to propose simple process improvements.
