Job Responsibilities & Requirements
- Operate large forklifts or overhead cranes (with proper training) to load/unload master coils or other materials from rail cars and/or trucks.
- Load/unload slit ribbon material on production line decoilers as defined by the steel loading process.
- Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
- Perform routine quality control functions on materials (i.e., thickness, gauge, width, and coating measurements).
- Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly.
- Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty; includes the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time, and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Other Requirements:
Must have an outstanding safety record and follow all safety policies and procedures. Participate in safety training and meetings. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Report all injuries/accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts and conditions immediately to supervisor or a member of management. Use equipment and materials properly. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Monitor own work to ensure quality. Apply feedback to improve performance.
Look for ways to improve and promote quality. Meet productivity standards without diminishing quality of work. Strive to increase productivity. Complete work in a timely manner.
