This position is responsible for operating industrial production machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner, including inspection and packaging of product and maintaining materials on the production line. The position may also be responsible for activities associated with label production.
Responsibilities- Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures
- Performs inspection and packing of wall plates as directed while following related work instructions
- Documents production and other information where applicable
- Places identification into each container of parts or finished goods unless an alternate method has been established
- Isolates suspect material and alerts technician, quality assurance, and/or supervision in the event of non-conformance
- Maintains a clean machine and work area
- Relocates any defective parts or assemblies to specified scrap containers
- Supports Material Handler position as needed
- Attends department stand‑up meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to sorting and rework
Essential Functions:
West Jefferson
- Performs changeovers on packaging machines
- Performs simple machine adjustments and light mechanical repair
- Replaces product components such as film, barcode ribbon and screws as needed
- Performs minor machine adjustments and repairs
- May produce labels from database based upon production schedule
- May perform label inspection to verify correct and legible information
- May correctly apply designated labels to packaging
- Ability to quickly move one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds
- Ability to successfully complete related on‑the‑job training program
- Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling
- Requires eye/hand/foot coordination
- Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
