- Lead daily Slitter department operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery goals are achieved.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop production team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with department leadership to execute operational strategies and drive department performance metrics.
- Monitor production schedules and workflows to ensure efficient execution of customer orders.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, including feeder adjustments, cut accuracy, and process improvements.
- Oversee preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with Quality, Shipping, Inventory, Facilities, IT, Production Coordination, and other departments to resolve operational challenges.
- Review production metrics, quality performance, downtime data, and operational reports to drive improvement efforts.
- Manage employee performance, staffing levels, schedules, attendance, and development planning.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, QMS standards, and ISO requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, minimizing waste, and enhancing product quality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience with previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Printing industry experience, including slitter operations, preferred.
- Working knowledge of slitter equipment, production processes, and manufacturing best practices.
- Experience with ISO, OSHA, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
