Bag Machine Operator; 2nd & 3rd shift

This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety and Classic Packaging procedures and policies. Operation and quality packaging of bags on assigned machine.

• Maintain acceptable production levels and quality of product while operating machine in the safest manner possible.
• Check all the machines’ safety functions at the beginning of the shift to ensure the machine is safe to operate.
• Read the order in its entirety to make sure you understand what the bag is supposed to look like and how it is supposed to be packed.
• Check bag quality every 15 minutes to ensure that the bags being packed are of the highest quality and match what the order calls for.
• Check quality at each restart of the machine.
• When the box is complete, stack it on the pallet neatly. If the box is over 35lbs, ask a mechanic to help put the box on the pallet. (You are still responsible for making sure boxes are stacked neatly and correctly)
• Communicate to the supervisor what the problem is when a problem arises with the machine or bag.
• Complete all paperwork and computer entries accurately.
• Stay in your work area, and keep it clean and orderly.
• Advise supervisor of any needs or suggestions.
• Evaluate helpers’ progress and training needs.
• Encourage, compliment, and create a positive workplace.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including wearing PPE.
• Safely operate variety of material moving equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists to transport and lift materials finished products.
• Perform any other job duties as assigned by shift supervisor.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty accurately and in time to meet the company’s target deadlines. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Proficient in communication skills and computer skills.
• Troubleshoot equipment and product quality issues.
• Start and monitor machine continually at all points.
• Recall and set bag recipes from the equipment’s computer system for each set up.
• Punctual, meticulous, and reliable.
• Courteous manners with co‑workers.

2nd Shift
- Monday
- Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm

3rd Shift
- Sunday
- Thursday 11:00pm - 7:00am

Full‑time

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour + Shift differential
