Mechanical Technician IIAbout the Role

  • Assemble, test, and maintain complex mechanical systems and components to meet required specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers and senior technicians to ensure the quality and reliability of flight hardware.
  • Assemble major structures, perform part‑fitting operations for spacecraft systems, and translate blueprints into mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform precision drilling, use calibrated tools, bond components, troubleshoot, and develop advanced precision cleaning skills.
  • Work independently on complex mechanical assemblies involving soldering, harness routing, inspection, in‑process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication.
  • Inspect, assemble, integrate, and operationally check flight hardware while meeting specifications and standards.
  • Use precision measurement tools to ensure components meet specified tolerances while adhering to PPE and shop safety requirements.
  • Follow 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols; lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in restrictive spaces.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements.
  • Ability to perform intermediate equipment setup and maintenance activities, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and competency with hand and precision tools.
  • Proficiency in precision cleaning.
  • Knowledge of 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
  • Ability to conduct verification and troubleshooting of own work.
  • Proficient understanding of mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in‑process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications:

    IPC, J‑STD, A&P License.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation

Pay Range: $25.10 - $34.51

Benefits
