Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rolling stock and mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders, skid steers, utility vehicles, yard equipment)
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimize operational downtime
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs
- 3+ years of industrial or heavy equipment mechanical experience
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to breakdowns as needed

- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime to support 24/7 operations
- Ability to follow all West Fraser safety policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in an industrial mill environment (heat, noise, dust)
- Successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and physical
