Description
This position is the entry level position for individuals responsible for the assembly and fabrication of switch gear. This position includes building the structure, wiring the back pan and doors, and assembling the bus and installation of the breakers. The focus of this position is the assembly of switch gear from the component level to completed product. This position includes the assembly of low voltage, medium voltage and controls panels.
Minimum QualificationsAttention to detail
Ability to read and understand an electrical drawing and schematics
Proficient with hand tools
Able to read a tape measure and other measuring devices
Successfully complete the on boarding training program
Skills and Abilities
Must be able to measure to 1/16th of an inch
Must understand torque values and how they correspond to components.
Drill and tap holes, crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, mount control units, and to provide openings for elements, wiring, and instruments using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.
Electrical wire and cable routing skills and the understanding of standard wiring workmanship as it pertains to quality
Determine if own work is complete and correct as specified by instructions, drawings and specifications.
Coordinate daily tasks with others to align priorities for smooth assembly operations
Ability to read/execute electrical schematics and/or drawings, and engineering sketches
Must have troubleshooting skills
Mark and tag components, wiring, and connections to identify circuits and assemblies
Ability to use hand and power tools
