Social and Community Specialist
The Opportunity
Are you a storyteller or social media pro in uniform, ready to bring those skills to the civilian world? Through the DoD Skill Bridge program, Nutanix is looking for a Social and Community Specialist to manage our Life at Nutanix social channels and employee advocacy hub, helping us amplify real stories about our people and our culture to the candidates and employees who matter most.
Whether you have worked in public affairs, mass communications, or recruiting, this fellowship gives you hands-on experience across social media, community building, and employer brand.
You will help bring our employee community and culture to life and keep our voice consistent across channels, from Linked In and internal Slack to advocacy campaigns and culture moments.
Your Role
- Manage the day-to-day engagement of the Life at Nutanix social channels, organic and paid, sharing real employee stories and culture content with candidates and employees.
- Run and improve our employee advocacy program in Bambu: keep great content flowing and get more employees sharing it.
- Grow and moderate the #Life At Nutanix Slack community, and rally employees to amplify what matters.
- Plan, schedule, publish, and report across channels, keeping everything on brand and on voice.
- Track what is working, bring ideas to campaign brainstorms and comms reviews, and help shape our social and community strategy.
- Learn our tools (Linked In, Bambu, Slack, scheduling and reporting) and grow into owning the social and community function end to end.
Military Experience That Aligns
Ideal for service members with experience in:
- Public Affairs / Mass Communications (Army 46S, Navy MC, Air Force 3N0X2, Marine Corps COMMSTRAT / 4500 field, Coast Guard PA): running social media and command channels, telling your unit's story, and engaging internal and external audiences.
- Recruiting, marketing, or morale and community programs (for example, Army 79R and equivalents): audience outreach, event promotion, and building engaged communities.
- Any role where you ran social media, produced content, wrote newsletters or command messaging, or built and engaged a community.
What You Will Bring
- Strong writing and a clear, human voice.
- Comfort on social media and an eye for a good story.
- Organized and reliable across several projects and deadlines.
- Interest in employer brand, social, and community building.
- A quick-learner mentality, or existing familiarity with social and content tools.
- A collaborative, curious mindset and an interest in the tech industry.
- Eligibility for the DoD Skill Bridge program as a transitioning U.S. service member.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid, based in Durham, North Carolina.
