Occupational Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director for Strategic Engagement, Duke Campaigns, this position will provide administrative direction to and project management for the strategic engagement program in Duke Campaigns.
Work PerformedDay-to-day management of university-wide campaign programming strategy
- Serve as the primary point of contact for campaign program planners across the university and Duke Health, supporting alignment and execution of campaign-related activities.
- Manage the project management system and calendar for university-wide campaign programming, ensuring timely updates, task tracking, and cross-team visibility.
- Prepare and maintain reports on campaign programming impact, reach, and engagement metrics to inform strategic decisions and demonstrate outcomes.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Stewardship (MCS) to support the promotion and visibility of campaign programming through integrated communications and marketing efforts.
- Develop tools and resources to support campaign program planners, including talking points, speaker preparation materials, leave-behind assets, and multimedia content for use at campaign events.
- Convene university-wide campaign program planners to share best practices, foster collaboration across departments and schools, and encourage innovative approaches to campaign engagement.
- Manage the campaign donor engagement fund selection process, including coordinating proposal review and supporting program leads to ensure successful implementation and impact.
- Design and implement an assessment plan to evaluate the effectiveness of campaign programming and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to drive participation and meaningful follow-up for signature campaign regional events
- Manage regional volunteer teams for each signature regional campaign event, including recruitment, training, and activation in partnership with regional engagement teams, gift officers, and campus colleagues.
- Coordinate pre-event outreach strategies to maximize attendance and ensure alignment with campaign priorities, working closely with special events and marketing, communications, and stewardship.
- Develop and implement post-event engagement plans to convert attendance into meaningful campaign activity, including surveys, follow-up messaging, and tools for volunteers, frontline fundraisers and relationship managers to support continued donor and alumni engagement.
Support campaign engagement activities designed for individuals seeking to get involved in the campaign, in coordination with AED departmental partners.
- Serve as the campaigns team point of contact for staff across AED who lead entry-level engagement activities for alumni to get involved in the campaign. Collaborate with the Marketing, Communications, and Stewardship (MCS) team to ensure advocate engagement tools and materials are current, accessible, and effectively support campaign goals.
- Track and report on the reach and impact of advocate-level engagement activities to inform future strategy and resource development.
Serve as a member of the campaign operations team.
- Assist the Senior Director with regular updates and communication with school and unit colleagues to ensure everyone stays up to date on campaign operations and has the materials they need to support donors and volunteers.
- Assist with campaign operations programs and special projects as needed.
This work may require international and domestic travel.
This is a hybrid position requiring work on-site in Durham, NC for a minimum of two days per week.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
