Independently plan and provide professional nu rsing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and famil ies in accordance with the scope ofthe RN as defined by the North Caroli na Board of Nursing.

Plan, provide, sup ervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing proce ssfor patients in accordance with physician orders and established polici es and procedures. Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and resp onse to care.

Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licens ed and unlicensed care providers.

Assist other nursing personnel in the de livery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unitas assigned.

Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and mater ial resources.

Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriat eassistance or educational offerings.

Act as preceptor and support the de velopment of other staff and formal learners.

Participate in the identific ation of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities an d in performance improvement activities.

Perform other related duties inc idental to the work described herein.

Knowledge of scope of the registered nurse, licensed pra ctical nurse and unlicensed staff

Knowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing process
