Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or multistate compact RN license
  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience in acute or long-term care (2 years highly desired)
  • Strong assessment, clinical documentation, and communication skills
  • Experience with LTAC patient population or complex medical patients (ventilator/trach care, wound care) is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all LTAC patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with nursing standards, LTAC protocols, and facility policies
  • Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation and care planning
  • Initiate and coordinate discharge planning, patient and family education, and transitions of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
  • Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to safety protocols, infection control, and reporting hazards
  • Support a positive, efficient work environment through teamwork, effective communication, and accountability
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies
