Position: Chamber Console Operator (HBOT)

You Are Not Just Running a Console - You Are Guarding Lives

At Extivita, the Chamber Console Operator role is one of profound trust and responsibility. You are the steward of pressure, oxygen, timing, communication, and safety for every patient and team member involved in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

This role is not merely technical. It is vigilant, disciplined, and deeply human. Every action at the console affects the lives inside the chamber. We strive to perform this work with purpose, humility, discipline, and excellence in the service of patients, teammates, and physicians.

We want to say this plainly and without exaggeration:
Our commitment to glorify God through our work drives us to invest intentionally in every team member's professional, personal, and intellectual growth - with excellence and purpose. This is not because we promise comfort – but because we intentionally invest in people as whole individuals, honoring the inherent dignity and worth that every person brings to our workplace.

Who We Are (Why We Exist)

Extivita’s leadership strives to honor God through the way we serve patients, employees, and the community. Our culture, leadership, and approach to patient care are grounded in the conviction that every person is created in the image of God (Imago Dei) and therefore possesses intrinsic dignity, worth, reason, responsibility, and untapped potential. This belief shapes our commitment to treating every patient, employee, and community member with respect, compassion, humility, and excellence.

We are unapologetically a People First organization - not as a slogan, but as our operating system.

Our mission is to deliver concierge-level, science-backed hyperbaric oxygen therapy through a vertically integrated care model while building a culture where people have the opportunity to grow and flourish personally, professionally, intellectually, and, where meaningful to them individually, spiritually, with excellence and joy - all for the glory of God and the good of those we serve.

The Role:

Chamber Console Operator (Multiplace HBOT)

As a Chamber Console Operator, you are the external anchor of every dive. You are responsible for executing treatment protocols, maintaining constant situational awareness, that is, experiential awareness ensuring flawless coordination between systems, inside tenders, and patients-you are the captain of the dive.

Your posture must be calm, deliberate, and authoritative - especially under pressure.

Core Responsibilities

(This is a safety‑critical, highly disciplined clinical operations role)

Pre‑Treatment & Setup

  • Prepare, inspect, and verify chamber readiness prior to treatment
  • Review treatment protocols and dive profiles per provider orders
  • Confirm communication systems with inside tenders
  • Ensure documentation, logs, and safety checklists are complete

Console Operation During Treatment

  • Execute chamber pressurization and depressurization sequences
  • Monitor depth, pressure, oxygen levels, ventilation, and timing
  • Manage gas supply systems and oxygen delivery
  • Maintain constant communication with inside tenders and patients
  • Adjust dive profiles per medical directive or emergent conditions

Safety & Emergency Command

  • Monitor IT concerns for signs of oxygen toxicity, barotrauma, or patient distress
  • Execute emergency procedures (fire suppression, power failure, pause in treatments, rapid decompression)
  • Coordinate response while maintaining control of chamber systems
  • Remain composed and directive in all emergency scenarios

Post‑Treatment & Documentation

  • Complete treatment logs and compliance documentation
  • Report deviations, incidents, or maintenance needs
  • Participate in chamber shutdown and system checks
  • People First (PF) Self-Assessment:
Document 2–3 sentences on how the dive met PF standards (dignity, calm communication, stewardship, and patient advocacy) - including one strength, one improvement, and any follow‑up action needed.
Training, Mastery & Certification

We do not place people at the console - we form disciplined operators and stewards.

You will receive structured training covering:

  • Personal and professional mastery or People First principles
  • Hyperbaric physics, gas laws, and dive…
