Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000 for Day Shift with a 2‑year commitment for eligible candidates.

More about our team: Join our team in a 33‑bed Behavioral Health Unit specialising in adult and geriatric patients. The unit is staffed with compassionate healthcare professionals including RNs, CNAs, Mental Health Assistants, Psychiatrists, and Mental Health Providers. Operating with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:6‑1:9, our unit treats a variety of diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioural health crises.
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

- Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
