Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursery

Job Type: Part Time | PRN, Variable

Schedule:

12-hour shifts, PRN – As Needed. Shifts could be days, nights, weekends or holidays.

About the team

Join our 14-bed Women's Services Unit featuring a Level 2B nursery with 6 beds and an 8-bed L&D/Mother Baby Unit. With an average of 50 deliveries per month and a below‑average C‑section rate, our unit provides comprehensive care for expectant mothers and newborns. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to promoting a positive birthing experience and ensuring the health and well‑being of mothers and infants alike.

You will also have the opportunity to cross‑train in each area of this department to gain experience. The department utilizes a self‑scheduling application.

How you’ll contribute
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
