The Labor & Delivery Unit at Duke Regional Hospital is comprised of 17 beds and delivers an average of 200 patients each month.
Level 2 facility delivering patients at 32 weeks gestation and up. 24/7 in‑house OB, neonatal, and anesthesia provider coverage. Focus on serving our community and partnering with families to create a safe and respectful birth environment. High‑tech maternity care provided in a unit with lots of tenue and a close‑knit family environment.
ScheduleRotating day and night shift – 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. with call; 12‑hour shift per week.
Job SummaryAs a Clinical Nurse, you will prioritize patient care while serving whole persons in a patient‑centered atmosphere. Responsibilities include providing and supervising direct and indirect nursing care, using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), and delivering advanced or specialized care in line with the Duke University Health System Professional Practice model. You will participate in clinical ladder programs, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects, and other health‑related projects as assigned.
Nursing services will align with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and all applicable regulations.
Education: Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
Experience: 2 years of appropriate clinical experience required; 1 year 6 months of women services experience preferred.
Licensure &
Certifications:
Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS required.
