About the role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The LPN will assist physicians and nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures, support the medical team in patient assessments, and help maintain a safe care environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program.
- Current North Carolina or Compact licensure.
- Obtain NC licensure within 90 days if holding a multi‑state compact license.
- BLS certification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide and document nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist physicians and nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures.
- Evaluate nursing care, assist in patient response assessment, and aid in determining nursing priorities.
- Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain the care environment, including equipment and material resources.
- Identify operational performance improvements and participate in related activities.
- Assist in control and maintenance of material resources and report equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in in‑service education programs and other conferences.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
