Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Shift Details: 7:00am - 7:30pm (Rotating Schedule days)

Work Location: Crisis - NC Durham 309 Crutchfield Street

Salary / Hourly Wage: $27.00 - $29.00/hour

Sign-on Bonus: $2,000

Summary of Job: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team. The LPN position also identifies the need for medical attention and alerts the Physician and/or RN of medical concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Guest Care & Advocacy:
    • Provides education regarding diabetic care, psychiatric medication, and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
    • Coordinates care, including assisting individuals with making medical and/or other provider appointments as needed.
  • Compliance &

    Risk Management:
    • Assists with intake process.
    • Collects blood or urine specimens and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
    • Monitors care of individuals, including monitoring medications under the supervision of the RN.
    • Oversees and maintains medication records in accordance with policy and state regulations.
    • Completes clinical documentation as required.
    • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
    • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Cross Functional

    Collaboration:
    • Provides support to medical assistants and other staff as needed, which includes treatment and discharge planning.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Performs other related duties assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Education / Licenses:
    • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
    • Current and valid LPN license.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
    • Thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing preferred.
    • Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions, and interactions of medications prescribed.
    • Ability to work with agitated guests in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Ability to problem solve.
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Effective listening skills.
    • Excellent clinical documentation skills.
    • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
    • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a non-driver attestation form must be signed.
  • Miscellaneous Requirements:
    • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
    • Travel required based on business need.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
    • Successful completion and meeting all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process if applicable.

      Employer:

      Must be able to pass a seven-year background check, substance abuse testing and/or tuberculosis testing (if applicable), education verification check, fingerprinting clearance in applicable states, and a three-year motor vehicle report meeting insurance carrier criteria if driving is required.
