Multiple shifts available: 8:00 am–4:00 pm and 4:00 pm–10:00 pm. Hours may vary. Minimum 24 hours per month (6 shifts) plus weekend shifts (minimum 3 shifts per month). Shift minimum 4 hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Personal hygiene
- Ambulation
- Eating, meal preparation
- Dressing
- Shaving
- Toileting
- Clean dressing
- Shampoo
- Assist with use of devices required for daily living (e.g., walker, wheelchair, prescribed ice cap or collar, crutches, cane)
- Assist with prescribed range‑of‑motion exercises under supervision of the individual in charge
- Assist with special diet preparation, record intake and output, encourage fluids
- Record personal and therapeutic health care activities
- Observe appearance and behavioral changes in the client and report to RN Case Manager
- Follow infection control standard precautions and safety policies per regulations, use personal protective equipment as needed
- Maintain clean and neat client environment
- Assist client to meet socialization needs, accompany to activities, help maintain dignified quality of life
- Handle linen and waste according to state and federal guidelines
- Submit activity sheets and timeslips to staffing coordinator weekly
- Respond quickly and courteously to clients and health care team requests
- Perform assigned tasks in emergencies (fires, electrical failures, disasters, severe weather)
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Provide medication reminders as instructed
- Read and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight
- Maintain compliance with safety program and report all incidents to RN Case Manager/ Home Care Administrator immediately
- Follow established communication guidelines and authority
- Dependable in regards to attendance and punctuality
- Accept responsibility for completing assignments once accepted
- Interact courteously, tactfully, and politely with managers, co‑workers, residents, vendors, or associates to preserve productivity and morale
- At least one year of CNA experience in a home‑based setting
- Must be listed in good standing on the NC CNA Registry
