Clinical Nurse II – Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU)

Duke University Health System – Duke Regional Hospital, Durham, NC seeks a Clinical Nurse II (Registered Nurse) to provide patient‑centered care in the Ambulatory Care Unit. ICU, PACU, or ED experience is highly preferred.

Three 12‑hour shifts, Monday–Friday; no on‑call.

As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, your priority is to provide comprehensive nursing care. The RN will perform direct and indirect nursing duties, using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) to achieve departmental goals. You will plan and deliver advanced or specialized nursing care for patients, participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects, or other health‑related projects as assigned.

Care will be delivered in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and all applicable regulations.

Provide clinical nursing care to patients in the ACU, maintain professional patient relationships, and support family‑centered care.

Required:

• Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Associate’s Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or current compact RN licensure.
• BLS (or higher) certification.

Preferred:

• Professional specialty certification.
• Experience in ICU, PACU, or ED settings.

BLS (or higher) certification required. Professional specialty certification preferred.
