Site Nurse Director

Position Overview:

The Nurse Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the nursing department within Accanto Health facilities. This role ensures the delivery of safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care across all levels of care (Inpatient, Residential, PHP, IOP). The Nurse Director oversees nursing clinical quality, staffing, regulatory compliance, and interdepartmental coordination to support the holistic treatment of clients struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions.

Direct clinical care is an expectation of the role, with the aim of ensuring ongoing working knowledge of nursing workflows and opportunities for quality improvement. Nurse education is also an expectation of the role, with the aim of promoting robust education and skills training for the nursing team at the time of onboarding and in a continuing education cadence.

Schedule:

Full Time 1.0 FTE, 40hrs/wk working Monday through Friday approximately 8:00am to 5:00pm. On-Call elements required.

Compensation Disclosure:
  • Site Nurse Director Starting Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position.

How the Site Nurse Director Empowers Recovery:

Clinical Care and Oversight (25%):
  • Ensure high-quality, individualized nursing care is delivered in alignment with treatment plans and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise the assessment, monitoring, and documentation of client health status, medication administration, and vital signs.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison to internal and external medical providers and psychiatric providers.
  • Participate in medical and clinical huddles and/or team meetings, contributing to the development and revision of client care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, dietitians, medical and psychiatric providers, and support staff to deliver integrated, person-centered care.
  • Contribute nursing input to client staffing and treatment review meetings.
  • Educate staff and families on relevant medical aspects of eating disorder recovery (e.g., vitals trends, medication side effects, hydration needs).
Nurse Education (25%):
  • Build departmental education supporting required nursing competencies.
  • Ensure professional growth opportunities for the nursing department.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Nursing and Compliance team to develop and enhance medical and psychiatric emergency readiness training, while also ensuring regular completion by the sites/programs.
  • Provide clinical consultation to nurses and interdisciplinary teams on medical and psychiatric issues, including management of refeeding syndrome, electrolyte imbalances, and psychotropic medications.
Leadership & Administrative (50%):
  • In collaboration with Nursing Supervisors, interview, hire, onboard, train, and supervise RN, LPN, and support nursing staff, fostering a supportive, trauma-informed team culture.
  • Ensure proper nurse-to-client ratios and adjust schedules based on census and acuity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support ongoing clinical competency and licensure compliance.
  • Lead nursing department meetings and promote professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain nursing policies and procedures that align with state/federal regulations, Joint Commission/CARF standards, and company protocols.
