American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of recent ER experience and a Level I Trauma Center background.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- General ED serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Level I Trauma Center environment
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
- Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
- Triage and isolation precautions/PPE experience preferred
- Ortho trauma experience preferred
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center setting
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 31 - March 31) with no exemptions
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at Duke University Health System must not have been employed within the past 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
