Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level I Trauma-experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring an active NC or Compact RN license and 2 years of recent ED experience.

Details
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • General ED serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • Level I Trauma Center environment
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy required
  • Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
  • Experience interpreting ABGs preferred
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
  • Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
  • Pediatric experience with head injury, near drowning, and spinal cord injury preferred
  • Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias preferred
  • Triage and ortho trauma experience preferred
  • 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as part of standard professional practice
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with no exemptions
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced bill rate
  • First-time travelers are not considered for this position
  • Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must disclose this history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
  • RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
