American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN requiring 2+ years of recent L&D experience and open availability for a teaching hospital setting.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No blocked scheduling - open availability required
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required between High Risk and L&D units
• Epic EMR experience required
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions permitted between October 31 and March 31

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patient populations
• Support high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and vaginal deliveries including forceps or vacuum extraction
• Manage medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Deliver postpartum care including breastfeeding support, wound care, and newborn assessments
• Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
• Scrubs provided in royal blue
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced pay rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months
• Maximum RTO of 5-7 days must be submitted with candidacy
• Up to three absences permitted per 13-week contract with attendance monitored throughout the assignment
