Director Laboratory Operations

Metric Bio are partnered with a world leading, US Headquartered CDMO as they look for a Head of Laboratory Operations in their North Carolina based Biologics facility.

In this high impact position, you will lead Biologics programs - responsible for a department of 20+ FTEs across Mass Spectrometry, Bioseparations and Bioassays.

You will operate in world class, state-of-the-art facilities, joining an exceptional technical team at an ambitious and well-funded organization.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive leadership experience in biologics analytical laboratory operations within a GMP-regulated CDMO/CMO environment.
• Deep technical knowledge across Mass Spectrometry, Bioseparations, Bioassays, and related analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC/UPLC, ELISA, potency assays).
• A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams while driving operational excellence and business growth.
• Experience partnering with clients, supporting business development activities, and serving as a scientific subject matter expert.
• Strong understanding of GMP compliance, regulatory requirements, and experience supporting regulatory inspections.
• Excellent strategic, commercial, and people leadership skills, with the ability to balance scientific quality and business objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred) with 12+ years of pharmaceutical laboratory experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles.
