Occupational Summary
Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments, and determinations to support Duke University research operations.
ResponsibilitiesWe seek a gap‑year or post‑baccalaureate computational scientist with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computational biology, or a related field. The position involves applying and developing computational pipelines for immune‑cell analysis (e.g., high‑dimensional single‑cell datasets) to generate immune maps of ophthalmic disease. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work at the interface of computational analysis, experimental biology, and clinical research.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computational biology, botany, biology, zoology, psychology, or another directly related scientific field.
- No prior professional experience required; an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience is acceptable.
Anticipated salary range: USD $19,060 to $28,850 per year. The total compensation package includes competitive medical and dental care programs, generous retirement benefits, and a wide array of family‑friendly and cultural programs available to eligible team members.
