Manual Researcher
Fidelity Workplace Investing – API Market Technology COE is looking to build and support outstanding products for its highly business critical Employee Digital Tribe. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse and hard-working. We work in a very dynamic agile environment.
The associate serves as support to Data Consulting as part of the Manual Research team, functioning as a resource for Fidelity’s retirement area. The associate will participate in departmental projects related to, but not limited to, retirement, pension and other outsourced benefits. The associate will interact with all levels within Data Consulting.
The associate is given ownership over a specific facet of a project with a defined goal. In addition, they balance their task assignment with an understanding of the overall team needs and proactively coordinate their own efforts to fill in on other areas of the client’s engagement on an adhoc basis.
As the owner, the associate is responsible for determining the strategy: what reference documents or people resources to leverage, which tools to employ, which task to perform first. Through their analysis they determine the level of effort required and resource support (i.e. offshore, another manual researcher, analyst) is needed to achieve the stated goal with the specified timeline.
When the work is self-performed, the associate leverages various service category databases, data warehouses, and other technical applications to identify, analyze and propose solutions to clean the data required to deliver accurate administration of the employee benefit programs (i.e. Health and Welfare, Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and HR/Payroll).
The associate acts as the primary resource for assistance to other members of the manual research team and is responsible for peer training/mentoring. The associate also assists with the delegation of work within the manual research team.
Responsibilities include:
- Review error lists for correction strategies and assist with the updating of data discrepancies (ex. Employment, earnings, work history, service details, dates of participation, calculation of benefits, indicative date updates), working with the DB Data team and other Fidelity units as appropriate. Assist with participant research through Omni Pay, Focus, XTRAC, and other 3rd party imaging systems. Assist with the retrieval, return and archival of various paper files.
- Assist with the generation of various client reports on ad hoc and periodic basis as requested.
- Research participant, client, vendor, and internal customer inquiries and respond in a timely, professional manner.
