Job SummaryThe Research Technician will assist in experiments involving yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and image processing and analysis. The Research Technician will also conduct routine lab maintenance, such as ordering lab supplies, preparing culture media and plates, and keeping cleaned sterilized glassware.
This is a one (1) year term position with a possibility of renewal based on performance, laboratory needs, and availability of funding.
QualificationsRequired:
High School diploma or GED and one year of experience in Research Technician work (assisting experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related area); or one year of full-time equivalent research experience in STEM areas during college education.
The Department of Molecular Genetics, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to join our team. The pay range for this job profile is $15.86 to $20.74. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
