R&D Lab Technician

The Peripheral Interventional group within Client Technologies & Innovation is seeking a detail-oriented R&D Lab Technician to support the development and testing of innovative medical devices. This role involves hands-on laboratory work focused on evaluating new technologies, particularly in the areas of chemical and material performance, stability, and degradation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to develop and execute test methods and support formulation and device development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute test procedures and operate laboratory equipment with minimal supervision
  • Accurately record, analyze, and report experimental data
  • Utilize laboratory instruments such as weighing balances, pH meters, tensile testers, and other characterization tools
  • Prepare and package devices for stability and degradation testing
  • Support development of formulations and material-based technologies
  • Communicate findings through written reports and verbal updates
  • Assist with lab-scale testing, including occasional work with biological specimens (e.g., tissue samples)
  • Contribute to additional R&D projects as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in R&D, laboratory testing, or process development OR
  • Associate's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures, equipment setup, and safety protocols
  • Familiarity with common lab tools and chemical/material handling
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience assembling device prototypes for testing
  • Background in preparing and testing formulations (e.g., adhesives, hydrogels)
  • Prior experience in medical device testing or regulated environments
  • Associate of Science degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
