Overview
Associate Specialist, Process Support Lab – Durham, NC. Supports lab‑scale vaccine process development, technical transfer, and post‑commercial process enhancements for multiple pipeline vaccine programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical hands‑on support for lab‑scale experiments: buffer/media preparation, cell/tissue culture, particle isolation, or product lyophilization.
- Execute bio‑analytical assays on in‑process and post‑process samples (potency assays, metabolite analysis, moisture analysis, FTIR, SEM‑EDS, UV/Vis, etc.).
- Perform particle isolation, microscope imaging, and particulate analysis to determine origins of particulate submissions.
- Assist in design and execution of lab experiments for process characterization, commercial technology transfer, and qualification studies related to bulk processes, systems, and facilities.
- Conduct experimental studies for investigative, developmental, or continuous‑improvement projects on existing Durham vaccine products.
- Troubleshoot equipment and assays and provide quick turnaround support for manufacturing investigations.
- Author and present experimental design proposals, technical reports, and documentation.
- Compile process data and apply statistical tools for experimental analysis and process monitoring.
- Participate actively in cross‑functional manufacturing teams to advance project goals and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Sciences.
- At least one year of relevant experience in a related field.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
- Adaptability and ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
- Detail‑oriented with systematic problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with experimental design, technical documentation, and statistical analysis.
- Experience in vaccine or biologics manufacturing within an aseptic, cGMP environment.
- Hands‑on experience in large‑molecule manufacturing or bio‑analytical assays.
- Familiarity with primary and mammalian cell culture, chemical engineering fundamentals, and process optimization.
- Salary range: $71,900.00 – $.
- Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive (if applicable).
