Since 1966, researchers at the Carolina Population Center have pioneered data collection and research techniques that move population science forward by emphasizing life course approaches, longitudinal surveys, the integration of biological measurement into social surveys, and attention to context and environment. We are also at the forefront of creating interdisciplinary training programs that integrate approaches from the social and biological sciences, building research capacity and training the next generation of scholars.

Our faculty fellows address pressing research questions about population dynamics, fertility, health, mortality, migration, and the environment. Faculty come from multiple disciplines, benefit ting from the cross-pollination of ideas. The CPC Research Dissemination Director will be responsible for translation and dissemination of CPC faculty research to a wide range of audiences. This position will provide dedicated research dissemination support to Carolina Demography, an applied demography unit that works with local and state agencies to help them better understand the implications of demographic change across North Carolina, and to the Center’s Population Center (P30) and the Aging Center (P2C) Infrastructure grants.

The CPC Research Dissemination Director is funded through grant and contract funds from outside of the University. CPC research focuses on cutting-edge population research across multiple disciplines, with research areas including mobility and well-being, reproduction and fertility, population health across the life course, aging in different contexts, and health and social and economic productivity.
The position is expected to collaborate with CPC Faculty Fellows and project staff to independently write and co-author original materials (technical reports and briefs, research syntheses and summaries, feature/news articles, web pages, presentations and/or videos) and develop strategies for research dissemination across a variety of channels for multiple sponsored research projects.
