The Opportunity
As one of the Senior Epidemiologists, you will provide scientific and technical leadership supporting systematic evidence mapping, literature reviews, evidence synthesis, and health hazard assessments. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, toxicologists, exposure scientists, and other multidisciplinary experts, you will lead the evaluation and interpretation of human health evidence to support environmental health and toxicological decision-making.
The Senior Epidemiologists will play a critical role in assessing epidemiologic literature, conducting study quality evaluations, synthesizing scientific evidence, and contributing to the development of technical reports and peer-reviewed publications that inform public health and regulatory decisions. This role supports the same evidence evaluation and health hazard assessment activities overseen by the Principal Investigator. Candidates from the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC area are preferred in this role.
This role is contingent upon award of the project.

- Design and contribute to systematic evidence maps, scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and evidence evaluation protocols.
- Conduct and oversee literature screening, data extraction, study quality assessment, risk-of-bias evaluations, and evidence integration activities.
- Apply epidemiologic principles and evidence evaluation frameworks to assess causality, strength of evidence, and potential public health impacts.
- Evaluate study design, exposure assessment methodologies, confounding factors, statistical approaches, and other elements influencing study validity.
- Collaborate with toxicologists, exposure scientists, pathologists, and statisticians to integrate human, animal, and mechanistic evidence into comprehensive health hazard assessments.
