Opening for a full-time Department Coordinator with time shared in the Duke Team Store and the University Store. This position reports to the Deputy General Manager, Retail Operations. The Department Coordinator is responsible for both front-end activities (assisting customers, operating a cash terminal, and merchandising products) and back-end duties (ordering and receiving).
Be You.Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Team Store and University Store to ensure retail sales floors are properly arranged, sized, and grouped according to store standards. Evaluate inventory movement and advise management of recommendations to properly display, move products to different locations, etc.
The management and staff at the Duke Team Store are also responsible for operating the Clothing/Gift Concessions Program for various athletic games – the Department Coordinator assists with the preparation and staffing of the various athletic events, as needed to meet full coverage demands in both operations.
Assist with receiving incoming merchandise transfers, verify packing slips for the accuracy of received quantities, and ensure that all UPCs are properly linked in Net Suite and that all items are priced correctly. Work with the Distribution Center to ensure timely deliveries.
Perform monthly cycle counts and ensure that inventory is kept in accurate quantities to meet customer needs and expectations. Confer with Stores’ management on any inventory issues. Make recommendations to Stores’ management to ensure that resolutions are communicated and acted upon for all inventory issues.
Perform various routine clerical functions in the recording and reporting of information required for accurate and up-to-date departmental records; process incoming and outgoing forms and documents according to operating procedures; monitor and participate in inventories of merchandise.
Perform inventories as scheduled; take counts of sales, reduced, damaged, and discounted merchandise; record markdowns; and dispose of merchandise according to procedures.
Assist customers in selecting products and recommending additional purchases; answer customer calls and inquiries; resolve customer complaints; ensure appropriate loss-prevention policies are adhered to.
Operate point-of-sale cash register as needed, processing cash and non-cash transactions. Enter new inventory products into Net Suite and ensure margins are correct.
Monitor
-the work of lower-level and student employees; notify the supervisor of problems that cannot be resolved.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requires a high school diploma. Some college preferred. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
ExperienceOne to three years of retail apparel sales and operational experience in a high-end, high volume retail operation. Must have a proven successful retail track record. Prefer retail supervisory experience.

Minimum Qualifications Education
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles to maintain proper inventory counts and to handle sales transactions, generally acquired through a high school education.
