Purpose Of

The Role

The purpose of the Product Sales Representative role is to drive profitable revenue growth for our compost manufacturing facilities by expanding existing customer relationships, qualifying and developing new commercial and professional accounts, and increasing market adoption of our compost and soil amendment products. This role acts as a critical connection between customers and operations, using a consultative sales approach to align customer needs with product solutions while supporting production planning, reliable supply, and the company’s broader sustainability and organic waste diversion goals.

You grow revenue and market presence by developing new compost and soil amendment customers while strengthening existing relationships across commercial and professional markets. You act as a trusted advisor, helping customers select the right products for their applications, while collaborating with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure dependable supply and customer satisfaction. Through proactive prospecting, field engagement, and solution-based selling, you directly support facility performance, customer retention, and the company’s sustainability and organic waste diversion goals.

Position

Summary

The Product Sales Representative supports our compost manufacturing facilities by growing existing accounts, qualifying new prospects, and driving revenue across assigned markets. This role focuses on building strong relationships with commercial and professional customers through consultative, outside sales efforts while partnering closely with operations to align customer demand with sustainable compost and soil amendment solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse market sectors, including but not limited to engineering firms, retail businesses, agricultural partners, and turf specialists.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets by managing and growing existing customer accounts as well as new account growth.
  • Represent McGill by attending industry functions, assisting and preparing promotional materials, at the direction of the Product sales manager.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and deliver educational programs related to customer base.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on sales activities, forecasting, customer interactions, and account performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • A proven sales professional demonstrating success in defining and implementing sales strategies, resulting in revenue and market share growth.
  • Ability to travel & perform in-person sales calls as directed by the Product Sales Manager.
  • Experience in the landscape and turf grass markets preferred.
  • Solid computer literacy to include Microsoft office suite.
  • Comfort and expertise in presenting to groups using PowerPoint applications.
