Senior Account Manager – RF, Wolfspeed Materials is primarily responsible for leading field sales with key customer accounts and driving new business opportunities to achieve rapid expansion in RF/Wireless materials. The role focuses on providing a commercial voice to product marketing and operations, ensuring responsiveness to a global customer base. The incumbent will leverage relationships, technical application expertise, sales analytics tools, product introduction initiatives, and market programs to identify and drive growth opportunities for RF/Wireless materials.

High‑purity semi‑insulating bare silicon carbide (SiC) wafers and gallium nitride (GaN) epitaxial technology are the core enablers for advanced device designs in 5G cellular infrastructure, aerospace, military, and defense applications. This position requires a candidate who can translate customer requirements into product capabilities and devise innovative solutions, impacting the company’s growth, performance, and market position.

Position Responsibilities
  • Actively manage the RF/Wireless materials growth segment and key accounts, expanding sales activity through new opportunity development.
  • Drive and close business opportunities in conjunction with field sales resources and channel partners, such as assigned agent/distributor groups.
  • Generate and maintain a key sales metrics dashboard, tracking quotations and pipeline activities.
  • Assist in planning and implementing industry events, including trade shows, technical conferences, and customer events on a global scale.
  • Provide detailed feedback to product managers on market data, website information, and competitive intelligence.
  • Offer technical support to customers for design‑in development or resolution of technical issues, involving broader organization as needed.
  • Handle communication, quotation and price coordination, order approval, and strategic business discussions, building strong relationships.
  • Manage quality issues with customers and coordinate internally.
  • Communicate market trends and capture voice of customer insights.
  • Collaborate with product managers on specifications for special business opportunities.
  • Distribute sales tools, application notes, and technical guidelines.
  • Provide field and customer training, establishing ongoing methodologies and processes.
  • Align product pricing strategies with competitive dynamics and internal financial targets.
Position Requirements
  • Demonstrated sales, business development, or product management skills in a technical product area.
  • 4–7 years of experience within a technical business field.
  • Excellent computer skills for tracking leads and preparing sales data and forecasts. Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to develop and translate strategic direction into tactical action plans.
  • Desire to grow into increased roles and responsibilities in field sales and marketing.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including internationally as necessary.
Highly Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS preferred.
  • Experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry in a commercial role (sales/marketing, product engineering, applications, etc.).
  • Knowledge of wide bandgap semiconductors, particularly GaN HEMTs, for RF/Wireless applications.
  • Practical experience with

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑changing environment requiring multi‑tasking with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supporting customers and distribution sales partners.
  • Knowledge of cellular infrastructure, aerospace, military, and defense RF/Wireless applications.
