Position: Territory Manager (North Carolina)

About the role

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, while acting as Halter’s on-the-ground representative across the United States. Your focus will be on both expanding existing accounts and delivering long‑term customer satisfaction.

You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding, to share field insights and help improve Halter’s technology for U.S. farmers. Frequent travel within North Carolina and surrounding territories is required.

What Your Day Could Look Like
  • Prospecting new business: driving to ride‑ups, cattle auctions and local agricultural associations to build a pipeline through outbound lead generation and timely inbound lead follow‑up.
  • In‑field sales: meeting potential customers on ranches, conducting on‑site discussions, and demonstrating how Halter’s virtual fencing can benefit their operations.
  • Expanding existing opportunities: identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities to maximize value for current clients.
  • Hitting sales targets: managing a pipeline, qualifying leads, and maintaining focus on both current and future deals.
  • Customer account management: ensuring post‑sale satisfaction, providing support, and addressing any challenges with Halter’s products.
  • Territory ownership: taking pride in covering every corner of the territory, meeting stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels, and building lasting relationships.
  • Customer onboarding: owning the end‑to‑end experience from sales to implementation, ensuring a smooth transition to other Halter teams.
  • Field learnings & feedback: collecting and advocating for customer feedback to improve the product and services.
  • Collaborating with support teams: resolving customer issues quickly and ensuring full support across the territory.
  • Attending industry events: participating in livestock association meetings, Cattle Con, and other events to generate leads and deepen existing relationships.
  • Contributing to the U.S. sales strategy: collaborating with the broader team to refine and evolve the sales process for the U.S. market.
You’ll be great if you exhibit
  • Driven attitude & communication skills: results‑driven, motivated, and adaptable in high‑stakes environments; proactive and excellent at communicating with customers and internal teams.
  • Ranching / cattle experience: deep familiarity with ranch operations and the unique challenges of the industry.
  • Sales & customer success expertise: proven history of creating new business, negotiating value‑based sales conversations, and building lasting relationships rather than transactional sales.
  • Territory management experience: managing large territories with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
  • Problem solving & collaboration ability: resourceful, quick‑thinking, and able to work across cross‑functional teams to address challenges.
  • Willingness to travel: frequent travel within the territory to engage with customers and prospects.
Bonus things you could bring along to the role
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Background in customer‑facing roles within agriculture technology.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
Our Benefits
  • Annual personal self‑development budget of US $750.
  • Best‑in‑class health insurance for employees and their families.
  • Paid parental leave: 16 weeks for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers.
  • Unlimited paid annual leave and wellness leave.
  • 401(k) with employer match: 100% match on the first 3% and 50% match on the next 2% of contributions.
  • Competitive remuneration package including salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
Compensation Range

$140,000 – $190,000

All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether they meet every requirement. Halter is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
