OverviewThe Director of Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) is a high-impact, hands‑on leadership role responsible for optimizing the productivity and performance of the field organization. Working with Sales and Marketing leadership to design a commercial engine for maximum impact.
Responsibilities- Field Force Architecture & Optimization
- Size & Structure: Lead field force sizing assessment.
- Territory Design: Ownership of territory alignment and optimization using mapping tools.
- Segmentation & Targeting: Develop customer segmentation models.
- Opportunity Mapping: Identify untapped market pockets.
- Risk Mitigation: Analyze performance trends to identify risk areas.
- Commercial Health Checks: Audit sales ecosystem for data integrity.
- Commercial Synergy & Customer Experience
- Marketing Partnership: Align field execution with brand strategy.
- Omnichannel Integration: Synchronize field activity with digital marketing.
- Performance Support & Execution
- Incentive Compensation (IC): Design and implement motivating IC plans.
- KPI Development: Establish leading and lagging indicators.
- Sales Strategy Connectivity: Connect data sources to create single source of truth.
- Education: Advanced degree or MBA preferred;
Bachelor's required. - Experience: 5‑10+ years in Commercial Operations, SFE, or Sales Analytics (Biopharma/Life Sciences).
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Tableau/PowerBI, Excel, CRM platforms (Veeva/Salesforce); experience with territory alignment software required.
- Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work cross‑functionally with Marketing and Sales.
- Analytic Rigor: Detective mindset to dig into data and propose solutions.
- Communication: Explain complex analytics to stakeholders with clarity and executive presence.
- Equivalency statements (e.g., alternate education or experience) may be considered where appropriate.
Work performed in an office environment; frequent sitting, hand movement, walking, occasional bending. Light to moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. Frequent driving and travel within the United States.
