Overview
Lenovo’s North America SMB organization is transforming how technology is delivered to small and medium businesses through a digitally enabled, customer-centric, omnichannel model. We are seeking entrepreneurial and highly motivated Field SMB Business Development Managers to serve as the face of Lenovo SMB within their assigned regions. These individuals will work across direct sales, channel, retail, and eCommerce to accelerate growth, strengthen customer relationships, increase brand awareness, and support strategic opportunities.
Unlike traditional sales roles, this position combines business development, community engagement, customer advocacy, market development, and pipeline acceleration. The successful candidate will become deeply integrated into their regional business community while helping Lenovo sales teams create and close opportunities. This role aligns to regional Mid-Market performance objectives while supporting strategic opportunities across all SMB segments within the assigned geography.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development Opportunity Acceleration:
Support high-priority customer opportunities across SMB within assigned geography. Partner with Client Managers, Account Executives, Channel teams, and leadership to accelerate deal progression and improve velocity. Engage directly with customers to understand business objectives and position Lenovo solutions. Help identify net-new opportunities and strategic account expansion opportunities. Assist in orchestrating resources across Lenovo business groups to support large or complex opportunities. - Regional Market Development:
Serve as Lenovo SMB's visible presence within the region. Build relationships with local business leaders, SMB customers, community influencers, and partners. Identify emerging market trends and growth opportunities. Develop regional engagement plans that increase awareness of Lenovo's SMB portfolio. - Community Event Leadership:
Plan and host local customer engagement events. Represent Lenovo at regional conferences, trade shows, business forums, and industry events. Actively participate in Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Organizations, Small Business Associations, and community organizations. Create opportunities to strengthen Lenovo's brand presence in local markets. - Partner Channel Engagement:
Develop strong relationships with local channel partners and influencers. Work closely with partner organizations to identify shared growth opportunities. Support partner-led events and customer engagements. - Sales Excellence:
Contribute to regional sales objectives and pipeline growth. Maintain strong operational discipline through CRM and business management systems. Provide regular market feedback to sales leadership regarding competitive dynamics, customer sentiment, and growth opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of technology sales, business development, channel sales, marketing, partner management, or related experience.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- SMB technology market experience.
- Experience working with channel partners and indirect sales models.
- Demonstrated success supporting large opportunities and sales cycles.
- Strong networking and community engagement experience.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong self-management skills.
- Experience hosting events, conferences, or business development programs.
- Knowledge of Lenovo's portfolio and go-to-market motions preferred.
