This 12‑month Fall Co-op sits within US Medical Affairs (USMA), Strategic Medical Partnerships at ViiV Healthcare.
The Strategic Medical Partnerships team is responsible for shaping and advancing high‑impact collaborations with external medical organizations, academic institutions, and professional societies to support evidence generation, scientific exchange, and education aligned with ViiV's HIV strategy. The team works cross‑functionally with Medical Affairs, Field Medical, Research, and Compliance to ensure partnerships are strategic, compliant, and value‑driven.
Job DescriptionThe Strategic Medical Partnerships Summer Intern will support a high‑performing Medical Affairs team focused on developing, evaluating, and managing strategic external partnerships. This role offers exposure to medical strategy, partnership governance, and cross‑functional collaboration within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
The intern will contribute to real‑world projects while developing foundational skills in medical affairs operations, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement. The role emphasizes learning, analysis, and structured project support rather than independent decision‑making.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the review and organization of strategic medical partnerships, including documentation, trackers, and summaries.
- Assisting with landscape analyses of medical societies, academic groups, or external organizations relevant to HIV care.
- Contributing to the development of briefing materials, slide decks, and internal summaries for leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Supporting medical congress and partnership planning activities, including timelines, deliverables, and post‑event documentation.
- Helping maintain compliance‑ready records related to medical partnerships and funding evaluations.
- Participating in team meetings and learning opportunities to understand Medical Affairs strategy, governance, and operations.
The intern is expected to demonstrate ViiV and GSK values—Patient Focus, Transparency, Respect, and Integrity—while building skills in teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications- Pursuing a Master's, or Doctorate degree in a relevant field such as Life Sciences, Public Health, Health Policy, Business, Strategy, Health Administration, Pharmacy or related disciplines.
