Security Officer - Part-Time Patrol in Durham, NC — you will serve and safeguard clients in healthcare settings and other industries. You can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an unarmed patrol officer at a leading healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents.
You will support patients, visitors, and staff with professional customer service and clear communication, while documenting observations and reporting concerns.
Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $20.46 / Hour
What You'll Do- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures and location-specific policies, and, when appropriate, participate in emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, reporting, and coordination with location leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or access concerns.
- Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by observing credentials, directing foot traffic, and reporting suspicious activity per site procedures.
- Complete security-related reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation required in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
