The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and the property of Grandfather Mountain. This position involves monitoring premises, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, enforcing site policies, and providing excellent customer service while always remaining professional and vigilant.

• Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, theft, vandalism, or safety hazards.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Control access to facilities by verifying identification and authorizing entry.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and customer concerns.
• Prepare accurate and detailed incidents, accidents, and daily activity reports.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and property rules.
• Assist visitors, employees, and customers with directions and information.
• Conduct security inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and management when necessary.
• Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous security, military or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs and patrol large areas.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
• Basic computer and mobile device proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
