Security Guard Part Time Patrol

As a Security Guard Patrol and Badging in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as commercial real estate. As a part‑time security officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security‑related incidents.

You will support tenants, guests, and staff with outstanding customer service and communication while bringing agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Part Time

$19.00 per hour

• Monday 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Friday 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or property staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and share relevant information with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance, access‑control, and/or security‑related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas; verify authorized access when required; and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior according to posted instructions.
• Support property operations by assisting with visitor directions, observing vendor and delivery activity, and maintaining detailed activity logs, incident reports, and other required site documentation.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access‑control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
