Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Security Officer role we have locations throughout Raleigh, Durham and Lumberton NC. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by conducting patrols, monitoring entrances and exits, and observing for suspicious activity or safety hazards. Daily tasks include enforcing site rules, responding to incidents and alarms, documenting events in logs or reports, and communicating clearly with clients, visitors, and team members.

The role also involves coordinating with local law enforcement or emergency services when needed, following post orders and company protocols, and providing courteous assistance to individuals on the premises. Security Officers are expected to remain alert, professional, and responsive throughout their shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as required.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform routine patrols, observe surroundings, and respond promptly to security or safety incidents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, visitors, and team members and to complete clear, accurate reports.
  • Capacity to follow detailed post orders, company policies, and legal regulations related to security and safety.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in appearance and conduct.
  • Basic computer skills for using incident reporting systems, email, and access control or surveillance tools.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods and to adapt to indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is beneficial but not always required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications (e.g., state guard card, CPR/First Aid) are a plus.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and any state or client-specific licensing requirements.
