Job Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for advanced and specialized plumbing maintenance necessary to ensure the effective facilities operations within a healthcare environment. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and facility/equipment inspection. This position also supports other facilities associates, projects, and activities based on organizational needs.
Responsibilities And Duties:- Performs plumbing and fitting alterations, and repairs on hot and cold-water lines, sanitary lines, steam process and heating systems, medical air, vacuum, and oxygen systems. Repairs leaks, replaces pipe as needed.
- Repairs and replaces all flush valves, faucets and associated electronics.
- Performs preventative maintenance (PM’s) in patient rooms: routinely checks and maintains faucets, water closets, traps, loose closet seats, etc.
- Maintains all master mixing valves on the domestic hot water system. Including point of use mixers for eye wash, safety showers, and faucets.
- Perform repairs and adjust pressure reducing valves on domestic pumps and water systems, circulation pumps, and associated piping.
- Maintains proper water temperatures to sinks, dish machines and public areas.
- Maintains all specialty water systems, softeners, etc., including testing and repairs.
- Performs preventative maintenance of equipment as scheduled, grease traps, acid pits, fire pump testing, etc.
- Prepare supply requisitions and material list and completes necessary work documentation (i.e., purchase orders and work orders).
- Accurately records time and material expended on the job by completing work orders daily.
- Opens and cleans out stopped and clogged drains, clears piping for fixtures and traps by using drain machines, augers, and jet tools. Replaces piping as needed.
- Maintains piping on sump and sanitary lift stations.
- Checks medical gas equipment. Performs all weekly and monthly tests.
- Performs operational testing and documentation to comply with TJC, NFPA, ODH, and any other monitoring organization to meet local, state, and national regulatory requirements.
- Maintain all mechanical rooms:
Keep area and equipment clean and painted, keeps shop area clean and neat providing a safe environment. - Maintains valid State of Ohio driver’s license. Can operate hospital vehicles per insurance carrier’s requirements.
- Operates hospital vehicles to travel to off‑site clinics/properties to complete assigned tasks.
- Follows all departmental safety procedures. Maintains all personal safety equipment and keeps in working condition and available.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School or GED (Required).
Driver’s License – Department of Motor Vehicles.
